Frame

The all new frame uses M5 alloy tubes. Frame geometry has been updated to be longer, lower, and slacker.  Stem length has been reduced to counter the longer top tube length.  Ideal stem length is 60-70mm.

Three downtube water bottle mounts allow the addition of the SWAT box, 53217-1000.

A custom chainstay protector is modeled off the design used on the new Epic and will reduce chain slap noise and paint damage.

Cable Routing

Cable routing uses full length housings.  Cables enter the headtube area through drilled ports on both sides.  Two ports on the non-driveside accommodate the rear brake and derailleur housings.   An additional port on the driveside may be used for an aftermarket dropper seatpost.  Foam churros may be used to minimize noise in the downtube, S149900018.  Cable housings exit the frame through a port near the BB, S186500008.  After exiting the BB port, the cable housings are routed beneath the chainstays and zip-tied to guides which are welded on.

Headset

The headset for the Chisel has a 1 1/8" upper and 1 1/2" lower bearing and is shared with the previous generation Epic Alloy, S182500004.

Seatpost

30.9 diameter seatpost with 34.9 seat clamp

Fork

The Chisel is designed as an XC race bike with S-XL sizes using 100mm forks. XS uses an 80mm fork to reduce the standover height.

Fork offset is changed to 42mm like the Epic models.  When combined with a slackened headtube angle and shorter stem, this maintains quick handling.
