Can I transport my Haul ST with a bike rack?

Without additional accessories, the Haul ST weighs 75-78 pounds, which is greater than the weight limits for many hitch-mounted bike racks. While it is possible to remove the battery to reduce the weight of the bike, there are a few precautions to take. Most importantly, the rider MUST cover the discharge port if the battery is removed, as otherwise this will be exposed and potentially lead to water or dirt contamination. Other considerations for rack compatibility are tire width and fender clearance.

Racks that are compatible with the battery installed:

  • Hollywood Sport Rider (electric bike version)

  • 1up super duty with Fat Tire spacer Kit

  • Hollywood RV Rider

  • Swagman E-Spec (requires fat bike tire tray)

Racks that are compatible with the battery removed (weight limit is too low with the battery installed):

  • Hollywood Destination E

Other racks may be compatible. Please verify with the rack manufacturer to ensure compatibility.

What aftermarket accessories, such as child seats and trailers, are compatible with Haul ST?

We built Globe bikes to carry just about anything you can imagine. While we can't guarantee compatibility with other manufacturers' products, here are some guidelines.

Child Seats

Child seats can mount to the standard rear rack included on the Globe Haul ST and LT. While we haven’t tested all seats for compatibility, three models that should be compatible are Thule Yepp Nexxt, Burly Dash, and Polisport Bubbly. The Thule Yepp Easyfit + Easyfit adapter is compatible but not recommended due to poor passenger space availability. Remember to follow passenger weight limits for the seat as well as for the Globe bicycle. Check with the child seat manufacturer to confirm compatibility.

Trailers

Globe bicycles are capable of pulling a trailer with an adapter for the rear axle. With the compatible Robert Axle Project Trailer Hitch Adapter for M12x1.25 properly installed, we have confirmed that most trailer brands can be installed to your Globe Haul ST and LT. We recommend reaching out to the trailer manufacturer to confirm compatibility of specific models. Also, be sure not to exceed the trailer manufacturers' maximum speed limit when towing a trailer.
