Frame Specifications

Both the Status 140 and 160 are made from premium M5 aluminum. The front triangle is different for each travel model, so it is not possible to switch to a higher or lower travel version by changing the rear triangle.

The frame is compatible with a 29" front wheel / 27.5" rear wheel setup only.

Shock specifications

140: 210x52.5mm

160: 230x60mm

Please note: Specialized frames are generally designed and tested to work with the suspension components provided as original equipment. When changing out shocks, be aware certain models of shocks may not be compatible with the frame due to the position of the shock reservoir, size, and/or other compatibility factors, even if they fit.

Flip Chips

All models ship with the Flip Chip in the high position. Switching to the low position lowers the bottom bracket height by approximately 9 mm and slackens the head tube angle by approximately 0.5 degrees.

To adjust the flip chips:

  1. Remove the upper and lower shock eye bolts, then remove the shock.
  2. Remove the Flip Chip halves out of the lower shock eye.
  3. Rotate the two Flip Chips 180 degrees, then push them back into the lower shock eye.
See image below: 1 shows the hole in the Flip Chip toward the front of the shock; 2 shows the hole in the Flip Chip toward the rear of the shock)
  4. Install the shock on the frame, then thread the bolts in.
  5. Torque the forward shock eye bolt to 10 Nm / 88 in-lbf, followed by the rear shock eye bolt to 24 Nm / 212 in-lbf.

Axles

Hub spacing is 148 mm rear and 110 mm front.

Fork

44mm offset forks are used for both 140 & 160mm versions.

Status 140: 140 mm maximum fork travel

Status 160: 160 mm maximum fork travel

Headset

All bikes use a tapered flush mount headset with 1-1/8” upper bearing and 1-½” lower bearing. These use Campy type bearings and a split crown race.

Seatpost

100 mm minimum frame insertion

34.9 mm seatpost; 38.6 mm seat collar
