Q: What has changed between the SL7 and SL8?

A: What's different: We've made additional aerodynamic improvements to the SL8 frame, which makes it 16.6 seconds faster than the SL7 over 40km. The frame is also lighter than the SL7 at 685g for a frameset. If that wasn't enough, the SL8 has a 33 percent higher stiffness-to-weight ratio yet is 6 percent smoother than the SL7.

What's the same: Although the frame stack and reach numbers are slightly different, the fit geometry between SL7 and SL8 is identical because the stem position is the same.

Q: What is the difference between the S-Works, Pro, and Expert versions?

A: The S-Works frame is built with FACT 12r carbon for the lightest and stiffest frame possible. The SL8 frame for the Pro and Expert bikes has the same aerodynamics but uses FACT 10r carbon. Pro bike builds have higher end components than Expert bike builds to provide options at different price points.

Q: Are there other models of Tarmac still available?

A: Yes. The Tarmac SL7 is available in Comp and Sport builds.
