Washing & Basic Maintenance
Cleaning and washing
Regularly cleaning your bike ensures greater longevity, less wear, and the best performance.
Tips for cleaning an e-bike:
- Never use a high-pressure cleaner. Use a wet cloth or a low-pressure garden hose for removing dirt.
- Always turn off the bike before cleaning.
- Disconnect the charger and ensure the charge port is closed.
- Inspect the charge port for dirt accumulation. To clean inside, use a soft brush or low-pressure air.
- Before connecting the charger, make sure all contacts and ports are dry and clean.
- If your bike has a removable battery, leave the battery in the frame and leave the wiring harness plugged into the charging socket when washing/cleaning.
- Regularly clean the Speed Sensor magnet on the rear wheel with a cloth.
- Clean the chain and drivetrain parts thoroughly. Lube the chain with a high-quality lube.
Hardware Maintenance
- Perform regular bike service either on your own or at your Authorized Specialized Retailer.
- Fork, shock, and dropper post should be serviced according to manufacturer recommendations, typically every 50 hours or 6 months.
- Be aware of faster wear and tear for some parts like drivetrain, tires, and brake pads
Software Maintenance
- To check if your Turbo bike is running the latest software, turn on the bike and then open the Mission Control app. Go to Diagnose>Device Updates to see if your Battery, Motor, and Display firmware are up to date.
- Authorized Specialized Retailers can assist with software updates.
